The barrel has a 3' chamber, but the info on the receiver suggests it is only for 2 3/4' shells - the receiver serial number ends with a 'V', and the receiver doesn't say 'magnum' anywhere. ![]() I've located a really nice one which is supposedly a 3' magnum. All Model 1100 Remington shotguns were serial numbered in blocks of numbers. All but the early guns also have a prefix letter. Model 1100 serial numbers (on the receiver) started with the number 1001. They are actually the predessor to the model 32 kreighoff. We have serial number 1704 engraved and gold enlayed the guns where actually made from 1932 to 1951 there were approx.
